Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sourdough starter/discard
  • 1 lg egg
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla (optional)
  • dash of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your waffle maker and spray with cooking spray.
  • Mix wet ingredients: sourdough discard, egg, honey, milk, melted butter and vanilla in bowl.
  • Add dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and dash of cinnamon. Mix until combined.
  • Ladle some batter into your waffle maker (or alternatively, use a griddle to make pancakes instead of waffles) and cook accordingly.
  • Serve your hot waffles with butter and syrup or your favorite topping.
  • Freeze leftovers in an air-tight container or Ziplock bag and reheat in the toaster or oven for a quick breakfast!
