- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup sourdough starter/discard
- 1 lg egg
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla (optional)
- dash of cinnamon (optional)
Preheat your waffle maker and spray with cooking spray.
Mix wet ingredients: sourdough discard, egg, honey, milk, melted butter and vanilla in bowl.
Add dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and dash of cinnamon. Mix until combined.
Ladle some batter into your waffle maker (or alternatively, use a griddle to make pancakes instead of waffles) and cook accordingly.
Serve your hot waffles with butter and syrup or your favorite topping.
Freeze leftovers in an air-tight container or Ziplock bag and reheat in the toaster or oven for a quick breakfast!
