MEET PIGGIE SMALLS – OUR NEW KUNE KUNE PET PIG

Yep – we got a new pet pig! She’s a Kune Kune and her name is Piggie Smalls. Right now (because she’s still so young & tiny and it’s over 100° out here in Arizona), she’s an indoor pig who sleeps in a blanket in Bryant’s bedroom! She has taken a liking to our dogs (especially Quinny) and her favorite human is Bryant. We’ve only had Piggie Smalls for a few short days, but she’s already potty trained (she follows the dogs outside to handle business, then follows them back in). Kune Kunes have a reputation for being AMAZING pets and she’s definitely proving that.

Our garden had been doing so well but we had to harvest everything before half of it was torn up when our new main waterline was installed last month. We are waiting for the weather to cool down just a little bit more so we can re-plot and plant our fall garden. Our garden produced some really great lemon balm (amongst the other herbs, veggies and fruits) so we made some really yummy vinagrette to go with dinner.

And… our worm copost bin is doing SO good! We started with just a few worms who’ve been breeding like CrAzY and we now have hundreds of worms composting our kitchen scraps. They will be joining our fall garden soon so we can start a brand new batch of worms!
