Y’all, I wasn’t sure if this smart door would Y’all, I wasn’t sure if this smart door would be worth the extra cost, but it totally is!!! I love the privacy it provides, when we want it to, while keeping a clean, sleek look. And the fact that we can control it from a button, app and voice control is even better. I’m showing y’all this house in her ugly state so we can all appreciate the transformation she’s going through and how great she’s going to look afterwards. We’ve been calling her the “Hidden House” because she had been stripped down, swallowed up by trees and vines, and abandoned for about 12 years. 💚 A little day-on-the-farm asmr for y’all as 💚 A little day-on-the-farm asmr for y’all as I tackle spring chores on our South Carolina homestead! The chickens decided they wanted to hitch a ride on the tractor while I filled up the bucket with water to care for the apple and peach trees I planted earlier this week. Using a battery-operated pump, I made sure they got a good drink to help them thrive. After that, I visited Ace and Lainey, our Nubian goats, who will hopefully be welcoming some goat kids soon! Then, it was time to fire up the tractor and brush hog to clear the back trail, where wild berries are starting to grow now that spring has arrived in South Carolina. They have so much space to bathe and play, and I love that it has a drain and is so much easier to empty and clean than the hard plastic kiddie pool we’ve been using. Plus, it folds up nice and small and is light enough to move around our homestead! I had an order delivered from Gurney’s and needed to get 2 apple trees and a peach tree planted, so he got the auger out and bore me some planting holes 🕳️🕳️🕳️ I would have loved to buy more mature trees, but it wasn’t in the budget. These young ones are a better start than none at all. It’s all part of actively creating a food forest on our homestead. I’m grateful for a strong, hardworking, masculine husband who believes in my vision and does all the heavy lifting to make it happen, one step at a time. A few weeks ago, my daughters placed a mix of chicken and duck eggs in our incubator, and while the chicks hatched last week, these little ducklings finally made their debut last night! Now, they’re settling into the brooder with their chick friends until they grow big and feathered enough to join the rest of the flock outside. What should we name them? 🍅 Want to double your tomato harvest?? 🍅 T 🍅 Want to double your tomato harvest?? 🍅 This is my proven two-leader pruning method for indeterminate tomato plants, which I’ve used for the past two years to increase yield and improve plant health. By topping the plant early, I encourage two strong main stems (leaders) instead of one, leading to better airflow, double fruit production, and easier management throughout the season. I also add soil to my tomato plants while they grow to promote additional root growth along the stem, ensuring stronger, healthier plants when it’s time to transplant.
