This little mug of mushroom coffee has been part o This little mug of mushroom coffee has been part of my mornings for years now 🍄☕. I love how it gives me steady energy without the jitters or crash that regular coffee used to bring. It just feels good — simple as that.

If you’ve ever been curious about mushroom coffee, you can check it out through my link and use my code FREEDOMFORESTFARM for 15% OFF.

But honestly, I’d be drinking it every day even without the discount. It’s become a part of my rhythm out here. 🌿✨

Jesus poured most of His time into twelve disciple Jesus poured most of His time into twelve disciples—and through them the Gospel spread to the world.

Homeschooling reminds me of that every day.

I’m not just teaching math or history; I’m pouring love, truth, and life skills into the hearts of my children so they can step out and bless others.

It can feel quiet and ordinary—morning lessons, shared chores, unhurried conversations—but this is the big work: equipping the ones right in front of me to impact the world beyond our home.

To my fellow homeschool parents, don’t underestimate the power of your homeschool ministry! 🫶🏼

Charlie Kirk was our brother in Christ. This is wh Charlie Kirk was our brother in Christ. This is why we are crying and grieving so hard over a man we never met. It’s because our Spirit knew him. If you’re going through it right now and surprised by how deep the hurt feels, it’s because you’re connected to the body of Christ. This happened to all of us. You are Charlie. I am Charlie. And now is the time for us to come off the sidelines and be BOLD for Jesus. The enemy cannot silence us!
🐮 Farm to table meal 🥘 To be transparent, 🐮 Farm to table meal 🥘

To be transparent, it’s still a little difficult for us to eat this beef because we raised our cow since he was a bottle baby, and he was a daily part of our lives. I guess he still is, just in a much different way. We all miss him and sending him to freezer camp still feels so recent. But to have meals that truly nourish our family is something we are adjusting to and forever grateful for.

🌿 🥬 HARVESTING HERBS ON THE HOMESTEAD + A KA 🌿 🥬 HARVESTING HERBS ON THE HOMESTEAD + A KALE SALAD TREAT FOR MY EMU 🦕

I love days like these on the homestead when I have a small harvest but it goes such a long way…

Picked some lemon balm, echinacea, basil, and sage. I use these herbs for tea, cooking, and a few simple home remedies, so I laid them out on my new dehydrator racks to dry slowly. Also sliced up a cucumber for infused water, grabbed some kale from the tunnel that’s somehow still sweet and tender even in this summer heat, and made a kale/cucumber/tomato salad for Pember, our emu. He loves this special treat!

Days like this make me appreciate how much we can grow, preserve, and enjoy right here at home!

Calling all experienced college mamas, help a girl Calling all experienced college mamas, help a girl out… what tips and advice can you offer a mom preparing to send her first kid off to the college dorm?!

I feel like we might have the clothing storage down. In addition to these hanging closet organizers (Amazon affiliate link in bio), he has some dressers for under his bed (10 drawers), plus 2 drawers in the bottom of the wardrobe closet.

What are some additional MUST haves?

🐐🥣 A Day (and Night) on the Farm: Goat Milk 🐐🥣 A Day (and Night) on the Farm: Goat Milk Yogurt

Yesterday on the farm, we turned a gallon of raw goat milk into a week’s worth of thick, creamy homemade yogurt — and honestly, it felt like the most satisfying kind of slow living.

After evening chores and milking, we brought the fresh goat milk inside, gave it a quick heat-up to prep it for culturing, and let our Instant Pot do the rest. No fancy machines, no mystery ingredients — just real, raw milk and a few spoonfuls of probiotic-rich starter. It’s amazing what you can make with what your own animals give you.

We let it ferment for 8 hours overnight while we let the farm — and our bodies — rest. We woke with the roosters’ crow to go check on our yogurt, let it cool and strain, then added fresh fruit, honey, and granola to make a delicious, healthy breakfast.

The leftover whey? Some went to the chickens — they love it and it’s full of nutrients. The rest I saved to go into the next loaf of sourdough, soak grains for oatmeal, and even feed the garden. Sometimes I’ll freeze a little in cubes to toss into smoothies later on. Nothing goes to waste around here — especially not something as useful as whey.

It’s easy to forget how nourishing and simple homemade food can be. And it always hits different when it comes from your own land and animals.

If you’re working with raw milk, goats, or just looking to step deeper into from-scratch living, making your own yogurt is a great place to start.

🫙 Would you try it? Or have you already?

👇 Tell me how you use your goat milk below — cheese? kefir? soap?
