Here’s my recipe (if you don’t have English Ivy growing in your backyard, ask a friend or family member who does or lookup somewhere to forage English Ivy near you):

Freedom Forest Farm Homemade English Ivy Laundry Detergent:

Gather 50-60 English Ivy leaves.
Cut them up into smaller pieces, tossing or composting the stems.
Put pieces into pot, add a quart of water and simmer for about 20 minutes.
Transfer to a jar or bowl and let the concoction sit overnight (I place a tea towel over the top).
The following morning, strain into a recycled container (Coffee-mate creamer bottles work great), squeezing the liquid from the leaves.
Use ½ to 1 cup English Ivy detergent per load of laundry.
Store remainder in the fridge for freshness and use within one week.
